Based in Fort Lauderdale, Fuzz Baby Records represents Rob Kingsley's expansion beyond his work with Killmama into a broader platform for South Florida's music community. Through the label, Kingsley and his associates have developed a comprehensive approach to documenting and promoting regional talent, combining live video and audio recording to capture both the sonic and visual elements of performances.
The label's operations center around supporting the South Florida music ecosystem by providing free recording sessions to touring bands while actively working with local musicians. This accessibility-focused approach removes traditional barriers to professional recording, operating on a donation-based model that prioritizes artistic expression over commercial considerations. Kingsley's own musical versatility—evidenced by his dual roles as guitarist for Killmama and drummer for garage rock band Milk Spot—exemplifies the collaborative, cross-genre spirit that Fuzz Baby Records seeks to foster throughout the region.
Looking back on the Fuzz Baby Records warehouse days, there are a few bands that really left a mark—and Twen is right up there. From the first time they played one of our DIY shows, they completely caught us off guard in the best way. Their harmonies, their energy—it just clicked. One of those rare sets that sticks with you long after the lights go down. I think we all fell a little in love with them that night.
